🕊️✨At the school where I used to teach art, my students just finished a book club where they read George MacDonald’s “The Princess and the Goblin.” This was definitely one of my favorite novels growing up, so I wanted to send them a painting of my favorite scene!

🌸🌼🪻Spring is springing! I got to spend the past week and a half exploring the UK and The Netherlands with a dear friend. I’ll have some new art soon, but for now enjoy all these beautiful growing things.

🪦🌞🌿 In November I visited this itty-bitty village in Friesland with family to see if we could find any of my dad’s relatives in this cemetery. We weren’t successful, but we did befriend this majestic, one-eyed feline!

🐑🌾I just about died when I found these sheep climbing this tiny hill! Just look at them! I’m trying not to overwork my paint, so I didn’t render them in their fullest cuteness, but I’m pretty happy with the colors.

🪻🌼This is a little belated birthday botanical for my grandma who turned 80 this week! This summer we took a very memorable drive into the mountains and almost got stuck. I would have been glad to be stranded in such a beautiful place if there weren’t bears around.🫣

🦢🌿Yesterday, I took a break from painting to visit the Rijksmuseum with Peter. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve always taken a long stop at this swan. So it was high time to draw it!

(Sorry to the person who asked me to draw some Rembrandts. We got kicked out before I got that far. Next time!)
